Every new build property comes with an NHBC guarantee. Most house builders and developers typically discourage the installation of loft boards in the new loft area. This caution stems from conventional loft boarding methods that might compress the loft insulation or necessitate its removal. Compressed or removed loft insulation can lower the property's energy rating, causing it to fall short of the Sustainable Homes Standard or the prevailing Building Regulations associated with the issued guarantee.
However, installing our new raised loft boarding does not impact the u-value rating of any existing loft insulation.
